Choose a loose pearl that fits your mounting

Select individual pearls around the setting you intend to make, from a focal pendant to a coordinated pair of earrings. Compare the available shapes and sizes with the mounting, then check the visible face and drilling details. Loose describes the supplied form, so each listing still needs its own review of pearl type, quality and selling unit.

Start with the setting dimensions

For a calibrated mounting, give the required pearl diameter and tolerance. For elongated or irregular pearls, request length, width and depth as well as a side view. Decide which face will show and check that the mounting supports the pearl without hiding the feature you want to highlight.

Confirm drilled or undrilled supply

Loose pearls can have different drilling arrangements; loose does not mean undrilled. Check for a full hole, half hole or no hole, and confirm diameter and depth where relevant. Match the specification to the pin or thread you plan to use, and ask whether any additional drilling work is available before buying.

Select one pearl or a balanced pair

A pendant can make use of an individual outline, while earrings need two pearls that work together. Compare dimensions, body color, overtone and luster in the same lighting. A single-pearl product photograph does not confirm that an equivalent second pearl is available.

Compare prices on the same basis

Confirm whether the listed price is per pearl, per pair or per lot, and which size or quality option it covers. Send the required quantity and mounting details with your inquiry. Ask for images of the proposed selection and confirmation of drilling, packing and lead time before approving the order.

Loose Pearls: buying questions

Are all loose pearls undrilled?

No. Loose pearls may be undrilled, half-drilled or fully drilled. Read the selected product’s drilling specification and ask for missing hole dimensions before ordering.

Is the price for a single pearl or a pair?

The selling unit is specific to the listing or quotation. Confirm the unit and chosen option before multiplying the displayed price for your project.

Can I choose a replacement pearl for an existing piece?

Provide the mounting dimensions, pearl type, color reference and drilling requirements. A close match needs confirmation from the available pearls rather than selection by diameter alone.
